The Nationwide Mercury Prize Art Competition is the UK’s premier student art competition and exhibition, open to art and design students at art colleges and universities throughout the UK, with students asked to create a work of art inspired by music.
The competition’s judging panel includes the pre-eminent artist Sir Peter Blake, one of the UK’s most celebrated artists and the man behind The Beatles’ Sgt.Pepper album sleeve. With over 2000 entries from over 130 universities and art colleges, the event discovers exciting, diverse and multi-disciplined work.
All winning finalists see their artwork exhibited at a high profile exhibition in London, with the overall winning piece appearing on the cover of the Nationwide Mercury Prize compilation CD.
I was lucky enough to be one of the winning finalists in both 2005 and 2006. |
